Divine Appointments

First of all, let me just say that God works through all aspects of our lives. He definitely cares about the details of our lives and what and who we interact with in our lives. I believe that God uses other people to speak into our lives to serve as encouragement and inspiration. Maybe you are not so sure about that, but let me ask you this..

Why would God not use His own people who He created in His own image to support one another through the One power that is work within us, which is Him? 

In Romans 11:36 it is stated that,

"for from Him 

and through Him 

and to Him are all things"

If we actually took time to wrap our minds around what this verse is saying, I believe that our perspective on life and our view of God's purpose for us would be radically changed. So you are probably wondering where all of these thoughts are coming from, yeah well I do not blame you... sometimes I wonder the same thing. But thinking logically is easy to do and that requires no faith. On the contrary, theological thinking requires a lot of faith. 

However,  I do have a story and some reasoning for my thoughts. 

If it was not for my THE one and only Jess Cooper, I definitely would not have been at the 

YWCO benefit fashion show for the girls summer camp program. By the way, the YWCO is a non-profit agency in Athens built of Christian values, which is an outlet for promoting healthy lifestyles through recreation, fitness programs, and social interaction for children, adults, and seniors in the Athens area community. 

Well because Jess NEEDED my support for her first appearance as big time runway model, I went to the show all by my lonesome. But in all seriousness, I love my friend and wanted to support her. She is such a blessing in my life.

So I get there & OF COURSE I load my plate with AH-MA-ZING food. Why not splurge a bit?! So I got a little of everything. Not even kidding. 

As quickly as possible, I try to find a place to sit down. Jess had mentioned that my ticket was for the front row, but those seats had reserved signs on each one. Therefore, I was not about to make a scene and sit down in those seats if that was not really where I was suppose to be at. The second row looked like a safe place...Well that did not work out so well because Jess sent out someone to help me move up to the front for a "better view of the show". Thank you, Jess. Appreciate ya'. ;)

As I am awkwardly trying to make my way to a special reserved seat with my over-loaded plate of food, drink, purse, and big 'ol jacket, this very nice man and his wife offered to let me sit next to them !

In my head-- 

THANK YOU JESUS. 

To the man--

Yes, of course ! :) 

I was quiet at first and did not want to be chatty-kathy with this couple; however, the man started telling me about his wife's affiliation with the YWCO. The lady went on to tell me more about how special of place that the YWCO is, and I could immediately tell that she had a deep passion for helping others in our community. She went on to tell me that was retired educator and principal in Clarke County. I told her that I was about to graduate from UGA with a early childhood education degree, and oddly enough she knew my UGA student teaching supervisor. The conversation continued on about school and it was so encouraging to talk with such a prominent member and retired educator in our community. What really struck me about this wonderful couple was their true joy and genuine passion, which I heard in both of their voices as they talked about their dedication to doing the Lord's work in our community. 

This conversation literally saturated me with hope for my future in education and reaffirmed my commitment to following Jesus with everything that I have. It was a such a divine appointment from God. I am SO thankful that these two individuals are such faithful and active followers of Christ. The love of Christ poured out of their smiles, kind comments towards myself and every single person they talked with, and through their words of wisdom. 

So yes, 

I absolutely do believe that God uses complete strangers to speak into our lives. 

even at benefit fashion shows that you fly solo to. ;)

Once again... all things from him, through him, and for him!

Did I mention that Jess was absolutely adorable and rocked the show !!!
